Hank Aaron started the foundation with his wife Billye in the hope of inspiring young people to develop their skills and pursue their passions. The Dreamchaser Scholarship, presented annually, is awarded to students with limited financial capabilities from all over the country.

His life-long passion was to increase minority participation in baseball whether that was on the field, in baseball operations, on the business side in a front office, or at Major League Baseball, his commitment to creating opportunities, access, and equity across the sport he so dominated was unwavering.
