He began to make photographs as a fine art practice during his undergraduate years at Elizabeth City State University in North Carolina. Eventually, McFadden would attend Savannah College of Art and Design, where he obtained his Master of Fine Art. McFadden combines his passion for the arts with his passion for civil and human rights. The result is his series, After Selma. In 2017, McFadden was recognized by TIME as one of “12 African American Photographers You Should Follow Right Now.”[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][mk_fancy_title size=”21″ font_family=”none”]Gregory Harris, Assistant Curator of Photography at the High Museum[/mk_fancy_title][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1/4″][vc_single_image image=”24468″ img_size=”medium”][/vc_column][vc_column width=”3/4″][vc_column_text css=”.vc_custom_1519413674495{margin-bottom: 0px !important;}”]Gregory Harris is the Assistant Curator of Photography at the High Museum of Art in Atlanta. He is a specialist in contemporary photography with a particular interest in documentary practice. Since joining the High in July 2016, Harris has organized solo exhibitions with Thomas Struth, Paul Graham, Amy Elkins, and Mark Steinmetz. In addition to his curatorial work, Harris is a founding editor of the photobook press Skylark Editions, serves on the Board of Directors for LATITUDE, a community digital lab in Chicago, and is a member of the Advisory Council of Atlanta Celebrates Photography. He earned a BFA in photography from Columbia College Chicago, and an MA in art history from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][mk_fancy_title size=”21″ font_family=”none”]Dr. Ralph B. Watkins, Pastor of Wheat Street Baptist Church, Author and Photographer[/mk_fancy_title][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1/4″][vc_single_image image=”24473″ img_size=”medium”][/vc_column][vc_column width=”3/4″][vc_column_text css=”.vc_custom_1519413685456{margin-bottom: 0px !important;}”]With over 20 years of pastoral, teaching, and administrative experience, Watkins is an active teaching scholar with over 250 publications and conference presentations to his credit. He is the author of The Future of the African American Church (co-authored with Justin West) (2014), Hip-Hop Redemption: Finding God in the Rhythm and the Rhyme (2011), and many other publications. Dr. Watkins is the hosts of the television show with Dr Ralph Basui Watkins a bi-weekly show that discusses issues of faith and social justice that airs on the Atlanta Interfaith Broadcasting Network. He is also the producer/director of two full length feature documentaries. In recent years, Watkins has received a Governor’s Teaching Fellowship, Lilly Teaching Fellowship, Fulbright Hayes Fellowship for study in Ghana, a Wabash Teaching Fellowship, and various awards and grants to study the African roots of African American theology in many African countries.
