Visual & performance art give us a language to articulate the most daunting problems of our times and have long been powerful tools of resistance to advocate for human rights. Through art and music, creators can carry ideas to communities and encourage others to speak out and make their voices heard.

The Center is partnering with ARTiculate ATL for a conversation between The Center’s Director of Exhibitions, Lauren Tate Baeza, Photographer & Creator of the Minor League project, Alex Christopher Williams, the Founder of FunkJazz Kafé, Jason Orr, and Visual Artist Shanequa Gay. This discussion will explore the history of art and music as resistance and the necessity for creative voices in confronting, processing, and solving some of the world’s most challenge social and political issues.
